Advisement & Registration
All New Student
- A &R Home » A & R Welcome
Welcome to Shepherd University! Our faculty and staff are pleased that you will be joining our academic community and look forward to assisting you in the next step of your enrollment.
All new students who are planning to attend Shepherd University either as a full or part-time student should plan to attend Advisement & Registration. This program is designed specifically to help you make a smooth transition to Shepherd University. Your day will include a transcript evaluation meeting (for transfers), a meeting with an academic advisor to plan your schedule for the spring, and registration for classes. This is your opportunity to register for classes before the late registration period begins on January 13, 2014. (Note: those who register during late registration are assessed a $25 late fee.) Please make plans to be on campus the entire day as this session is typically a full day program.
While you are on campus, staff will be available to answer your questions about financial aid, health record requirements, academic support services, text books, residence life, student identification cards, campus life, and more.
Two sessions are offered in January:
First year students: Wednesday, January 8
Transfer and readmitted students: Friday, January 10
Once you register for your session, you will receive an email confirmation with the session date; a space will be reserved and materials will be prepared for you. Please note: All students who register for Advisement and Registration will be billed $140 to cover the expenses of the program. This charge will appear on your billing statement 24 business hours prior to your session. If you are unable to attend your confirmed Advisement and Registration session you MUST call 304/876-5212 to cancel your reservation. This cancellation MUST be made a minimum of 24 business hours prior to your intended arrival in order to avoid being billed. You do not need to send any money now or bring money with you.
Please refer to the enclosed schedule for more information about the January 2014 Advisement & Registration program. If you have additional questions about this program, contact the Office of Student Engagement at 304-876-5402.
