Returning Student Move-in day 2017

New Student Move-In Day, Sunday, August 27

For quick directions to your building, please enter the following addresses in your GPS device:

Before you arrive on campus:

  1. Make sure you have submitted documentation that verifies you have received the meningitis vaccine.
  2. Pack the personal items you are bringing to campus in containers that are easy to carry in terms of weight and size.
  3. If you have your Rambler ID card, you will go directly to your building. See your building’s specific map below.
  4. If you do not have your Rambler Card, you will need to go to the Bookstore in the Student Center for a new card ($25 replacement fee) before checking into the residence hall.

Check-In Instructions For Shaw, Miller, And Thacher Residents (Map Below):

  1. Enter campus on University Drive from German Street/Rt. 45 (across from Sheetz).
  2. Make a right onto West Campus Drive (before the Wellness Center) and proceed to your building.
  3. Thacher Hall residents will move in from the parking lot at the side of the building.
  4. Shaw Hall residents will move in from the half-circle pull-in parking lot.
  5. Miller Hall residents will move in from the parking lot outside of the building.
  6. Once unloaded, all cars will need to be moved immediately to H-Lot for extended parking. This allows other students and their families the opportunity for a smoother check-in.

Shaw, Miller, And Thacher Move-In Map

Please check into your residence hall at your designated time; arriving at other times may result in delays.

  1. 3rd floor residents – 9:30am – 11:00am
  2. 2nd floor residents – 11:00am – 12:30pm
  3. 1st floor residents – 12:30pm – 2:00pm

When it is your turn to unload at the residence hall:

  1. Your items will be placed in a designated area until you complete the check-in process. The driver must remain with the vehicle.
  2. Once the items are unloaded, the driver must immediately relocate the vehicle to park in “H-Lot.”
  3. During the check-in process, you will be required to verify the Room Condition Report that will describe the condition of your space. It is important to do this thoroughly as the RCR is used to determine whether you may be financially responsible for any damages that may occur during the year.  You will also turn in your Resident Information Card.

Check-In Instructions For Potomac Place (Map Below):

  1. Enter campus on University Drive from German Street/Rt. 45 (across from Sheetz).
  2. Make a right onto West Campus Drive (before the Wellness Center) and proceed to your building.
  3. Potomac Place residents will move in from the parking lot beside the building
  4. Once unloaded, all cars will need to be moved immediately to H-Lot for extended parking. This allows other students and their families the opportunity for a smooth check-in.

  2. Continue past the Wellness Center and make a right onto Campus Hill Drive.
  3. Proceed to Boteler Hall. All residents must first check-in at Boteler Hall before going to their buildings.
  4. Once unloaded, all cars will need to be moved immediately to H-Lot for extended parking. This allows other students and their families the opportunity for a smooth check-in.

West Woods Move-In Map

  1. Enter campus by following Shepherd Grade Road from Rt. 480/Duke Street.
  2. Make a left onto University Drive.
  3. Make a left into the apartment parking lot (I-Lot) and proceed to your building.
  4. Once unloaded, all cars will need to be moved immediately to H-Lot for extended parking. This allows other students and their families the opportunity for a smooth check-in.
