ALUMNI Status of Shepherd University diplomas: December 10, 2004 You will likely recall that because of the timing of Shepherd's name change, the class of 2003-2004 was promised a free Shepherd University diploma in addition to the Shepherd College diploma received at graduation. Because there has been a considerable delay in Jostens Corporation's (our diploma producer) completing this job, we wanted to let you know what has transpired and assure you that we still intend to send you a Shepherd University diploma just as soon as we get them. During the summer, around the time that we submitted the diploma order, Jostens moved its entire production facility to a new factory. Because of equipment and staffing complications, Jostens is apparently still experiencing significant backlogs. We have been in daily contact with the company for the past several weeks, urging them to make this a priority project. Like you, we are very disappointed at the delay. The change to University status is an important milestone for Shepherd, and we want to commemorate it on your diploma. We will post any updates right here. We have entered into a new agreement with Herff-Jones, the graduation supplier for our Bookstore, to produce the Shepherd University diplomas for our 2003-2004 graduating class. Their production line manager is aware of the situation, and has promised a speedy turnaround time. We will keep a close eye on quality as well (ensuring that the new diplomas are comparable to the Shepherd College diplomas you have already received). We'll keep you posted . . . tls ------------------------------------------ February 28, 2005--UPDATE!! Herff-Jones is in the process of preparing the plate that will produce the diplomas. So we're probably not looking at a March 1 delivery date, but they continue to promise an expedited turnaround. Keep checking in . . . tls ------------------------------------------ April 20, 2005--UPDATE! Herff-Jones has delivered the 2003-2004 diplomas, and they are now en route to our 2003-2004 graduates.
