Joseph Robert Merz, Ph.D.


Joseph Robert Merz, Ph.D. came to Shepherd College in 1986. After receiving a BA (1968) in Psychology at the University of Arizona, he received his M.A. (1979) in Social Psychology and Ph.D. (1981) in Clinical Psychology at the United States International University. Course responsibilities include Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, History and Systems in Psychology, Humanistic Psychology, Human Sexual Behavior, and Psychohistory and the American Presidency. Other responsibilities include being Chief Justice of the Shepherd College Judicial Board, Chair of the Promotion, Retention, and Tenure Committee (Division of Business and Social Sciences), Member of the Grade Assessment Committee, and Member of the Gateway Committee.
