GET YOUR FLU SHOT!
Shepherd University joins the Centers for Disease Control in recommending a flu shot this year. For employees with PEIA coverage, the shot is free with your insurance card. Students should check to see if their family insurance plan covers flu shots.
The CDC states that it is likely that flu viruses and the virus that causes COVID-19 will both spread this fall and winter. According to the CDC, getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever during 2020-2021 to protect yourself, your family, and your community from flu. A flu vaccine this season can also help reduce the burden on healthcare systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and save medical resources for care of COVID-19 patients. September and October are good times to get a flu vaccine.
The more people who get vaccinated, the more people who are protected. Do your part. Get a flu vaccine this fall.
The Shepherd University Health Center has limited quantity of flu shots available. Call 304-876-5161 for more information.
