All submissions and letters to the editor must include the author’s name, phone number and email address for verification. Letters to the Editor should not be longer than 300 words and are printed at the Editor’s discretion. The editors reserve the right to edit letters for length, libelous material, spelling and vulgarity. 

The Picket is printed weekly and issued across Shepherd University and the local community on Wednesdays. It is the official student newspaper of Shepherd University. 

The Picket is student owned and operated by the students of Shepherd University for the betterment of the greater Shepherd community. 

All students are encouraged to have their voice heard within their student newspaper.  

Columnist’s opinions, letters to the editor, and commentary pieces (with the exception of the weekly Picket Editorial), do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of The Picket or its staff. 

The first copy of the Picket is free, with each additional copy costing 25 cents.
