Phaze 2 Gallery features work by Ohio photographer in October

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Phaze 2 Gallery will present an exhibit of photographs by Melissa K. Stallard from October 13-November 6.

Stallard is an Ohio-based contemporary photographer and assistant professor of art at the University of Akron Mary Schiller Myers School of Art.  Stallard is exhibiting work from her series This Land, photographs of the American social landscape, and will visit campus for a series of lectures in November.

“The Department of Contemporary Art and Theater is very excited to host contemporary photographer Melissa K. Stallard,” said Karen Gergely, adjunct professor and gallery director. “The Phaze 2 Gallery and accompanying visiting artists are essential to our students who want to make a career as a practicing artists. Stallard will talk about how she juggles her teaching, making, selling and exhibiting her work around the country.”
