Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3, 2009 Don't miss this celebration of mountain culture where young artists carrying on old-time, bluegrass, and blues traditions in Appalachia meet with master artists including a rare performance by legendary Kentucky songwriter/folksinger Jean Ritchie. Friday, October 2 Concert: Blues artist Jeffrey Scott and Jefferson County native Lars Prillaman's string band The Young Napoleons as well as 2009 Appalachian Heritage Writer-in-Residence Silas House and the winner of Shepherd's West Virginia Fiction Competition. Saturday, October 3 Concert: Juanita Fireball & the Continental Drifters recreate high-energy 1920s-era live radio performance and Jean Ritchie reminds us why she is known as the "Mother of Folk Music."
