MISSION STATEMENT

The vision of the Shepherd University Department of Nursing Education is to prepare caring, competent, culturally sensitive nurse leaders who are inspired to shape the future of healthcare for a diverse socity through excellence in nursing education.

Mission:  In order to achieve this vision, the mission statement of the Department is to enhance the health status of the world by educating professional nurses for practice in a rapidly changing health care environment as a nurse generalist.  The Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.) in nursing program prepares professional nurses for entry into practice as nurse generalists through traditional or RN-to-B.S.N.  In addition, the Department provides continuing education opportunities for professional nurses in this region.  We are dedicated to our core values of learning, engagement, integrity, accessibility, and community.
