Faculty art exhibit scheduled Sept. 8-21

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s annual Faculty Exhibition will take place September 8-21 in the Center for Contemporary Arts Phaze II Gallery and the Scarborough Library. An opening reception is planned for Tuesday, September 8, from 4-6 p.m. in the library and from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibit and receptions are free and open to the public.

The exhibit will feature oil, acrylic, and mixed media paintings, photography, sculpture, prints, and graphic design. Faculty who will participate include Rhonda Smith, professor of art and chair, Department of Contemporary Art and Theater; Christian Benefiel, assistant professor of art; Sonya Evanisko, professor of art and painting program coordinator; Shannon McCarthy, visiting assistant professor of graphic design; Rick Bruner, professor of art; David Modler, assistant professor of art; Mike Mendez, adjunct art professor; and Evan Boggess, adjunct art professor.

The portion of the exhibit in the library Reading Room is part of the Scarborough Society Art and Lecture Series. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-11 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday noon-11 p.m.
