SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Phaze 2 Gallery will host the exhibit “Beautiful Pig” by Shepherd alumnus Ben Schonberger October 23-November 17.

The exhibit is based on Schonberger’s first book, which was published in 2014. It focuses on photographs and memorabilia collected by former Detroit police officer Marty Gaynor during the late 20th century. Schonberger selected and arranged the photos and other documents, then had Gaynor write comments about them.

Schonberger will give an artist lecture about two collections of his work on Monday, October 23, at 3:30 p.m. at the gallery, and an opening reception is scheduled that day from 4-7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, noon-7 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; or by special request. For more information, visit www.shepherd.edu/art/phaze-2-gallery, or contact Evan Boggess at eboggess@shepherd.edu.
