Women's Camerata

Upcoming Choral Concerts

Women's Camerata is an ensemble of 30-35 female singers at Shepherd University, under the direction of Dr. Erik Reid Jones.

This ensemble strives for excellence in everything that it does. Students are expected to have their notes learned and their music well-prepared in advance of every rehearsal. Membership is made up of voice majors, music majors, and many students from other disciplines at Shepherd University.

Auditions take place at the beginning of every semester, during the first week of classes. Email Dr. Jones if you are interested in auditioning.

Recent works have included Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, Holst's Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, Veljo Tormis's Swing Songs, Persichetti's Spring Cantata, and Yuri Yukechev's My Heart is Ready.

In 2007, the Women's Camerata toured the south of England for a week, and in 2011 toured Spain.

The ensemble rehearses TuTh from 11:00 - 12:15.
