Upcoming Piano Ensemble Concerts
Piano Ensemble at Shepherd University is an innovative course that truly defines the meaning of the term ensemble--working with other musicians. In addition to the traditional duo and duet repertoire, students have the opportunity to work with both singers and instrumentalists in ensemble and accompanying roles.
Each semester the course focuses on issues facing the professional pianist: Vocal coaching in German, Italian and French art-song repertoire, accompanying in a variety of styles, such as musical theater repertoire, working with instrumental repertoire for winds, brass and strings, and more! Pianists, instrumentalists and singers are arranged into pairs or assigned to other ensembles for performances both on and off campus.
Additionally, students review various levels of pedagogical piano ensemble literature for future use in their own studios. The class is open to advanced pianists and requires the permission of the instructor. Follow the links below for detailed information on:
