Shepherd University Small Ensembles Recital

The Shepherd University Department of Music will present a concert featuring the best of the department's small ensembles on Tuesday, April 17th at 8:00 p.m. in the Frank Arts Center W. H. Shipley Recital Hall at Shepherd University. The evening will highlight performances of the Shepherd University's Trombone Quartet, Brass Quintets, Clarinet Quintet Saxophone Quartet, and Guitar Ensemble. The performance is free and open to the public.

The Trombone Quartet, featuring Rachel Bani, Brandon Smead, Kris Nigh, and Kristin Monroe, will perform Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa. The Brass Quintet of Matthew Fowle, George Ferenz, Will Thayer, Steven Acree and Kristin Monroe will perform

Sonata No. 28 by Johann Pezel and Flow My Tears by John Dowland. The Brass Quintet with Laura Sterner, Tyler Arnold, Amy Sultner, Kris Nigh and Greg Woodward will perform Op. 65, Movement No. 1 by Jan Koetsier, and an arrangement by Don Gillis of Just a Closer Walk with Thee.

The Clarinet Quintet of Sarah Ciaccio, Taylor Kirschling, Nicole McLaughlin, Katie Blake and Kaziah White will perform an arrangement by Novak of WA Mozart's Die Zauberflote overture, and The Easy Winners by Scott Joplin. The Saxophone Quartet of Justin Loizos, Robert Keller, Will Lopez, Wayne Hawkins will perform the Andante et Scherzetto by Pierre Lantier and the Tiger Rag arranged by Deane Kincaid. The Guitar Ensemble of Calib Karriker, Daniel Knight, Tom Collins and Patrick Harper will perform On All Fours by Bryan Johanson.
