Preparatory Department fall 2012
The Shepherd University Department of Music Preparatory Division is now accepting registrations for the Fall 2012 semester. Students of all ages, regardless of previous experience, interested in taking individual lessons in woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, voice, guitar, bass guitar, strings (violin, viola, cello or double bass) theory or jazz improvisation, are eligible for lessons with faculty and student instructors. The registration fee for the preparatory division is $25 per semester. Preparatory instructors set their own weekly lesson rates and teach half-hour and hour lessons depending upon student level. Lessons begin the week of August 27th and are held at the Frank Arts Center on the campus of Shepherd University.
The popular Musical Discoveries classes will also again be offered during the fall semester for pre-school students and will be taught by Frauke Higgins. Class offerings this semester will include Musical Discoveries for students ages 18 months-3 years and Dalcroze Eurythmics for ages 4-6 years. The classes will be offered in 2 sessions of 6 weeks per session, with a registration fee of $72 per student. You can also choose to take both sessions for a total of 12 weeks at $144. Session 1 will meet on Fridays from September 14th through October 19th. Sessions 2 will also be on Fridays and will meet from October 26th through December 6th (no class on 11/23).
