Christopher T. Quade
Born and raised in the Washington D.C. Area, Christopher T. Quade returned in 1996 to accept a position in The United States Air Force Band; after four months he was appointed to the position of Solo Tubist with that organization. Christopher received his Bachelor of Music Performance from Indiana University, where he was awarded the coveted Performer’s Certificate; he received his Master of Music Performance (Tuba) from the University of Michigan. His teachers include Harvey Phillips, Dan Perantoni, Fritz Kaenzig, Steve Norrell and David Finlayson.
Mr. Quade has held positions in the Columbus Pro Musica Orchestra, Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and at Walt Disney World in Florida; he has performed with the orchestras of Arlington, Alexandria, Washington, Evansville and Ann Arbor. His vast chamber music experience has seen him performing in 20 states and at such prestigious competitions as the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the New York Concert Artists Guild.
Mr. Quade is the Executive Director of Dominion Music Ministries, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing music to those whose spirits need a lift; he also performs as Solo Tubist with the organization’s crown jewel, The Dominion Brass, a world-class performing ensemble featuring many of the finest musicians in the area. Mr. Quade spent a year as Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium at Valdosta State University. He has taught a private studio of tuba and euphonium students from various Fairfax County schools and is frequently sought after to judge competitions and perform clinics across the country.
