
Carol Rose Duane
Carol Rose Duane holds two degrees in Piano Performance from Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins. She studied with Fernando Laires and Walter Hautzig. She attended years of master classes with Leon Fleisher. In addition to piano, she has excelled on the Celtic harp, winning the title of National Champion twice in the Scottish Harp Society National Competition. Between piano and harp she has performed at the Kennedy Center on the Millenium Stage, Strathmore Hall Arts Center, The Edinburgh Harp Festival and a number of Celtic Festivals, The National Geograghic Society and The Institute of Musical Traditions. She has played at embassies, where in addition to the ambassadors and other esteemed guests, there have been first ladies of a number of countries present. She has been a regular at the Strathmore Hall "Tea in the Mansion" on both piano and harp for years.
Carol Rose has CDs available through CDBaby.com, called "Lively Songs and Lullabies", and "Of Castles and Coral Bells" . They are in many libraries across the country, along with her video "Music From The Start". These came out of her program "Music for Very Little People"for newborns to threes, which she launched and taught in Maryland for eighteen years. She has also taught the Yamaha Education System and Harmony Road.
