We presented our 2020-2021 performances for free! In lieu of tickets, we offered viewers the opportunity to donate to the School of Music through our online giving form. All contributions go directly to supporting our wonderful Shepherd Music students. All performances remain available for viewing for free on the Shepherd Music YouTube channel.

Shepherd Wind Symphony Concert

Shepherd Salon Series—Candice Mowbray and Friends
Friday, February 5, 2021 at 7:30 pm
Shepherd guitar professor Dr. Candice Mowbray teams up with guitarist Danny Webber, multi-instrumentalist Anita Thomas, and Shepherd faculty singer Dr. Rob Tudor, and singer/pianist Dr. Bobb Robinson. The program will include classical as well as jazz influenced music, with works ranging from Duke Ellington’s “African Flower” and Ralph Towner’s “Icarus” to classical guitar works and an original composition by Thomas. Sponsored by Jefferson Security Bank.

A Celtic Celebration — Wind Ensemble Concert

The Shepherd Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Scott Hippensteel, presents a Celtic Celebration concert. Selections include a march by Maj. James Howe titled Pentland Hills; Solas Ané(Yesterday’s Joy) by Samuel Hazo; A Langford Legend (three Irish Street Ballads) by Robert Sheldon; Ye Banks and Braes o’ Bonnie Doone by Percy Grainger; and Colloden 3 by Julie Giroux. Joining the wind ensemble will be the City of Winchester Pipes and Drums for Highland Cathedral, Scotland the Brave, and Amazing Grace.

Shepherd faculty—pianist Dr. Yu-Hsuan Liao, clarinetist David Drosinos, cellist Camilo Peréz-Mejía will present a chamber music program that features rarely-performed but beautiful works for clarinet, cello, and piano, including trios by Frühling, works by Cassadó and Villa-Lobos, and Paquito D’Rivera’s “Danzon” for clarinet, cello, and piano.
