It was announced that the Working Women's event held on Feb. 23rd in Martinsburg was very informative. Discussion began about having a similar event here at Shepherd with a program dealing with "Dress for Success."
contacting Monia Christo to see if she would be available for our event (professional attitude/identity) career-oriented presentation for our senior students -modeling "business/casual" clothing (contacting J.C. Penney's to outfit our models) have students who are members of sororities and fraternities model the clothing (incorporate student participation)
Committee Members for this event: Judy Brandenburg, Marie Carter, Robbie Cordle, Monica Lingenfelter, and Karen Wempe. Marie will contact Johnette Jackson (chair of the Classified Employee Staff Development Committee) and Elizabeth Shanton to see if they would also serve on the committee. A meeting will be set up within the week to divide responsibilities. Target date for event: April.
"Take Your Daughters to Work Day"-Thursday, April 22nd. Dr. Dunlop's letter of support will be sent to the campus community next week, with information on the day's events attached. Anyone who wishes to volunteer some time during this event, please contact Anna Mary Walsh.
The Women's Caucus will be sponsoring a reception for the Shepherd College Women's Basketball Team this afternoon, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Ram's Den. This is in celebration of the team's extremely successful season and head coach Betsy Blose's recognition of the WVIAC's "Coach of the Year." The entire campus community has been invited.
Judy Brandenburg announced that the Panhellenic Council will be sponsoring an event on Tuesday, April 13th (evening) dealing with "Date Rape." The speaker will be one of the staff members from the Shenandoah Women's Center. This event is open to the campus community. Further details will be listed later.
Next Caucus meeting: Monday, April 12th at noon in the Cumberland Room.
