MARTINSBURG, WV — Shepherd University’s Martinsburg Center will host a Shred It and Forget It Open House Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the center, 261 Aikens Center.

RMS Mobile Data Shredding will be on site to shred documents free of charge (there is a four paper box limit). Donations supporting the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle, Inc. also will be accepted during the open house.

“Our Shred It and Forget It Open House provides a service to the community by safely shredding sensitive documents while at the same time supporting the United Way by collecting financial contributions to help the organization continue its valuable outreach services to the Eastern Panhandle,” said Jim Klein, director of the Martinsburg Center. “Shepherd staff will be on hand that morning to talk with prospective students and to provide tours of the Martinsburg Center.”

Materials suitable for the shredding event include all paper, file folders, hanging files, computer files, computer paper, notepads, and envelopes. Staples, paper clips, fasteners, and rubber bands do not need to be removed. For prices on other media destruction services, call RMS at 304-263-0199.
