Here Wii Go!

What is the Wii? The Wii (pronounced as the English pronoun we) is the fifth home video game console released by Nintendo. A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect acceleration in three dimensions. This design allows users to control the game using physical gestures as well as traditional button presses.

Where is the Wii on campus? The Library has a Wii located in Room 256 of the Library located near the student computers and behind the reference desk. Room 256 is a large instruction room; the Wii will be connected to the projector.

What games are available? Wii sports includes tennis, bowling , boxing, golf, and baseball!

What do I do to play? Go to the Public Services desk and request to play the Wii. You will need your student ID to check out the Wii. The Wii will be checked out for an hour at a time. You must renew your time if you want to play for more than an hour and there is no one waiting to play. One remote per student is allowed. The library offers 4 remotes and 2 nunchuks.

Can I check the Wii out overnight? No. The Wii is for library use only. You are welcome to play any time during the library's operating hours. However, you must return the controllers a half an hour before a scheduled class in Room 256.

Ideas for Wii play: Playing the Wii is a good way to take a break from studying in the library. You can also host a bowling or golf tournament with friends or with a student organization on campus!

Did you Know? This console was given the name, Wii, because it sounds like 'we', which emphasizes that the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii!
