How do I get my network username and password? To find your network user-name and network password log onto RAIL:
- Enter your RAIL user-name and RAIL password
- Click on "Personal Information"
- Click on "Password Management"
- Click on "Retrieve original password"
- Accept the User Policy
- Write down or remember your network user-name and network password
Unfortunately no. IT Services has been working for some time to implement a solution to allow wireless users to print to the Shepherd network printers. For more information about this, please contact IT Service's User Support at x5457 or support@shepherd.edu.
Until IT Services implements a solution to allow printing from wireless, here are two alternatives:
- Save the document to an external device- i.e. a pen drive, floppy drive, etc... then go to a computer lab, log into the computer and open your document from the external device.
- Save the document and email it to yourself, then go to a computer that has access to a printer, check your email and open your document.
Our library can borrow a book, or have a journal article copied, from any library in the U.S. through a resource sharing service called Interlibrary Loan. You can request a book or article by filling out an online form using the ILL Request Form. This form is also available under "Services" at the bottom of the Library Webpage. If you'd rather fill out a paper copy, there are forms available at both the Public Services and Reference desks. There is currently no charge to students, faculty, or staff for interlibrary loan services.
Can I use Interlibrary loan to borrow a DVD, video, or CD from another library? Many libraries will not lend AV materials, so it may be more difficult, and take longer, to get multimedia through Interlibrary loan.
My professors said they put some books and articles on reserve at the library for the class to read. Where can I find them and how long can I check them out?Professors may place personal books, library books, photocopied articles, videos, audio cassettes, etc. on reserve at the library so that the whole class, or multiple classes can have access to the same material. The professor chooses the lending period for the material of either 1 hour, 2 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 4 days, 7 days, or 14 days.
I am a professor and would like to put some materials on reserve for my students, how do I go about doing that? Please bring the materials to the Public Services desk and fill out a Faculty Course Reserve form. You can access a reserve form online at the library webpage under 'Services', if you'd prefer to fill the form out prior to bringing the materials to the library or in the event that your student assistant will bring the reserves and completed form to the library for you.
