Donations to Scarborough Library

Scarborough Library appreciates the continued interest in the resources and services of our collections and facility. Donations play an important role in the growth and development of the Library as it serves the students and faculty of Shepherd University. The Library accepts monetary and material donations. All donations are acknowledged with a letter.

Monetary donations are deposited into a special account in the Shepherd University Foundation and are used to purchase materials to enhance the Library's collections in newly developing areas, regional history, or reference works.

Donors of materials are advised that the Library chooses the items appropriate for its collections. Some books added to the collections are identified with a bookplate that is worded in consultation with the donor. Donors wishing to make many items available to the Library should consult with the Dean of Libraries and Information Sciences.

Questions regarding monetary or material donations to the Scarborough Library may be addressed to the Dean of Libraries and Information Sciences by calling 304-876-5312. Persons interested in making continuing and/or annual contributions to Scarborough Library may also check into becoming a member of the Scarborough Society at http://www.shepherd.edu/fndtnweb/scarborough.html.
