  • Sketches from Shepherdstown

    The Scarborough Library is currently exhibiting a collection of 25 pencil sketches by former Shepherdstown resident Serena (Violet) Dandridge in the Reading Room until September 2nd. The sketches depict the people of Shepherdstown in the early 1900s and the animals that the artist raised.

  • Treasures of the Shepherd University Archives and Special Collections Display

    Shepherd University Archives and Special Collections hold unique items, each telling a story about the rich history of Shepherd University and the surrounding areas. The treasures found in this display tell the story of life in Shepherdstown in the early-twentieth century, what life was like for students at Shepherd when it was founded in 1871 to the 1960s, and Shepherd faculty member, Ella Mae Turner's, desire to share the literature of West Virginia. Stop by the library to discover all the historical treasures that create these unique stories. The display is available until July 2016.

    The library is excited to announce its inaugural digitization project for the Shepherd University Special Collections, an ongoing project that will greatly benefit the students, faculty and alumni of Shepherd University by making historical Shepherd University documents available via the Internet.
