Graduation Checklist

  1. Obtain a copy of the Shepherd University Schedule of Classes. This may be obtained from the Information Desk in the College Center.  (You may also view the schedule of classes online through the Registrars offices website).
  2. Create a tentative list of courses. Review the list of courses offered for the semester and create a tentative list of courses you would like to take.  To get a detailed description of course content, refer to your Shepherd University Catalog.  When creating a tentative schedule, keep in mind you must eventually meet all of the General Studies Requirements.  Also, if you are considering a specific major, you may want to consider scheduling some introductory courses that will fulfill graduation requirements for that major as well.
  3. Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor. The purpose of this appointment is to discuss the tentative course schedule you have created.  Also, your advisor will ask you to talk about any decisions you have made concerning your future career and/or choice of major.

The Academic Advisors for Undecided majors are:

bullet Dr. John Adams, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs
bullet Mr. Joseph Jefferson, Director of Cooperative Education
bullet Ms. Betsy Sheets, Director of Career Services

Contact X5122 to schedule an appointment or find out the name of your advisor.

  1. Complete the forms in the scheduling packet. In order to be approved for scheduling and receive your PIN label, you must complete the Web Registration Worksheet (for yourself) and the Advisor Copy Web Registration Worksheet.  Both of these forms are located in the back of the Shepherd University Schedule of Classes.
  2. Obtain a PIN label from your advisor. Once you have discussed your course selection with your advisor and he/she approves the courses you intend to schedule, you will receive a PIN label from your advisor.  You must obtain this PIN label from your advisor (every semester) in order to schedule.  This label will provide you with your PIN number and the date and time you will be able to register for classes.
  3. Register for classes via RAIL during (or after) your assigned scheduling time. Using your PIN label, you may schedule via the RAIL.  Follow the Web Registration directions provided in this packet to register for classes.  You will not be able to register before your assigned scheduling time.  However, you may register for classes after your assigned scheduling time.
