Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack |

Campus computers with Office XP or Office 2003 may encounter problems when opening files saved in Office 2007's new file formats. |
| Office XP and 2003 Instructions |

1. In order to open documents saved in the Office 2007 native format, follow the instructions below. Download the Compatibility Pack from Microsoft or instruct your students to save their PowerPoint, Excel and Word files in these following formats:

2. To verify that the Compatibility Pack has not been installed, go to Start and open the Control Panel. |

| 3. Open Add/Remove Programs. |
 |
| 4. After the list has populated, scroll down to see if Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system is listed. |
 |

5. If it is not listed, visit the Microsoft Update site to determine if Windows and all Microsoft programs are up to date. Click on Express to begin the scan. |

| 6. If the computer is not up to date, click on Install Updates. |
 |
|
7. After the updates finish installing, close all the windows. You may be prompted to Restart your computer. Go to Download Compatibility Pack. Once the page opens, click on Download. |

| 8. Click on the Run button in the File Download Security Warning window. |
 |
| 9. Click on the Run button in the Internet Explorer Security Warning window. |
 |
| 10. Check the box to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms and click on Continue. |
 |
| 11. Once the installation is completed, click OK. Close all browser windows. |
