Tuesday, March 20– West Africa
❖ “Talk from a Refugee” by Siriki Diabate 7:00 pm Library 256
Siriki Diabate, a Shepherd Alumnus and proud member of the
IELP team, will give a speech exploring problems and stereotypes that immigrants face in our country; he will bring to life several barriers that immigrants must overcome by sharing emotional and passionate stories of triumph and resilience in the face of adversity.

Wednesday, March 21– The Americas
❖ El Salvador Presentation 12:00- 1:00 pm Library 256
Shepherd University student Henry Navarrete Mendez will present on the history, culture, and beauty of his home country of El Salvador.
❖ Latino Dance and Food 6:00- 9:00 pm Byrd Conference Room
Members of Shepherd University’s Alianza will host an evening of food, fun, and dancing. Olé!
Thursday, March 22– Europe
❖ Language Cafés 12:00- 1:00 pm Rumsey Room
Native and fluent French, Spanish, and German speakers will host conversation tables. “BYOBL” = Bring Your Own Bagged Lunch.
❖ Film Screening of Pan’s Labyrinth 7:00 pm Erma Ora Bryd Auditorium
Spend the evening with us as we enjoy the 2006 Academy Award winning movie for “best foreign film.”
Friday, March 23– Asia and the Pacific
❖ “Talk on Bangladesh” 12:00- 1:00 pm Byrd Center Auditorium
Ashley Gomes, a Shepherd student from Bangladesh, will share information about Bangladeshi food, clothing, music, and its fascinating history as a nation.
❖ Filipino Dance Hour 4:00- 5:00 pm Reynolds Hall
Elmer de Jesus from Extreme Family Fitness in Martinsburg will bring a Filipino Dance Group to help us all boogie into the weekend!
