Students discussed with Baier effective ways to communicate with today’s students about important global issues. Ideas discussed included ways to stress engagement, relevance, and communication platforms and marketing ideas. Baier has dedicated his life to natural resources and wildlife conservation, and to working to communicate these vital issues to students. Throughout his career he has been an advisor to many elected officials and educators, including every successive presidential administration since 1988 and has been an active and instrumental member of several national conservation groups.

The students participating included Corinne Airgood, business; Jasmin Earl, social work; Devin Spinks, global studies; Tyler Izydore, biology; Rachel Sweeney, graphic design; Amanda Rau, math and computer science; Jacob Bailes, communication and new media; Jeffrey Brammer, history and environmental science; and Laurel Schwartz, environmental science.
