Shepherd University has been named to the 2018 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs list by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine. This is the fourth time in five years that Shepherd has made the list. Diverse uses a web-based survey approach to examine categories such as family friendliness, salary/benefits, and professional development opportunities with a focus on workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment.
The study is conducted by George Washington University and commissioned by American College Personnel Association (ACPA)-College Student Educators International, in partnership with Diverse magazine.
“Receiving this honor affirms the university’s commitment to inclusive staffing practices and a collaborative work environment,” said Dr. Tom Segar, vice president for student affairs. “Student Affairs values diversity and works consistently to realize this ideal. I am thrilled we have received this award again and know this recognition has been made possible through remarkable colleagues in Student Affairs and throughout the university.”
The official results from the 2018 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs will be shared in the March 8 edition of Diverse magazine. Shepherd, along with the 12 other honorees, will be recognized at the ACPA annual convention March 11-14 in Houston.
