Ninety first-year students volunteer for 18th annual Day of Service August 22

Before setting out to their Day of Service assignments, volunteers gathered for a group photo in the amphitheater on East Campus.

Nonprofit organizations throughout Jefferson and Berkeley counties received volunteer help from Shepherd students during the 18th annual Day of Service on Tuesday, August 22. Ninety first-year students enrolled in the Emerging Leaders in Service program, nine student leaders, and 12 faculty and staff members volunteered at 15 agencies including Panhandle Home Health, Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, Boys and Girls Club in Jefferson and Berkeley counties, Shepherdstown Community Club, Shepherdstown Daycare, Telamon, Berkeley Senior Services, Shepherdstown Visitors Center, Jefferson County Community Ministries, Horses with Hearts, Yankauer Nature Preserve, Shepherdstown Caring Cupboard, and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
