Institute for Environmental Studies Welcomes New Physics Faculty Member
The Shepherd University Institute for
Environmental Studies welcomes Dr. Jeffrey Groff to its faculty as an assistant professor of physics,
beginning in the Fall 2009 semester. Dr. Groff earned his B.A. degree from McDaniel College and
his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the College of William & Mary. He comes to Shepherd after a year as a
visiting assistant professor of physics at Gettysburg College, where he taught lecture and laboratory
components of physics to science students and non-science majors in the context of a liberal arts
curriculum. Dr. Groff is active not only as a teacher but also as a researcher, having published and presented
numerous papers in the field of computational biophysics.
