The
Institute for Environmental Studies is a multidisciplinary teaching and
research institute located at Shepherd
University, Shepherdstown, WV. The Institute houses faculty and
students in the Environmental and Physical Sciences, as well as Science Education.
INSTITUTE HIGHLIGHTS
The IES has once again represented Shepherd University in the national RecycleMania competition.
RecycleMania is supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WasteWise program and the
National Recycling Coalition (NRC), and is coordinated as a project of NRC’s College and University
Recycling Council (CURC).
Congratulations to the Shepherd University students
and campus coordinator Dr. Clarissa Mathews for placing
1st in the state of West Virginia in Per Capita Corrugated Cardboard collection
2nd in the state of West Virginia in Per Capita Bottles and Cans collection
3rd in the state of West Virginia in Per Capita Paper collection
