Dr. Cree came to Shepherd College in 1940 as head of the Physical Department and also became faculty advisor to Alpha Sigma Tau's Shepherdstown Chaphter for her entire 32 years at Shepherd College. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and an honorary member of the Shepherd College Foundation. Upon her retirement at Shepherd College, a testemonial banquet was held in her honor with presentations being made in behalf of AAUW, Alpha Sigma Tau National Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, her professional colleagues and former students of her classes. It was also announced at the recognition banquet that a scholarship fund would be established with the Shepherd College Foundation in Dr. Cree's name. Dr. Sara H. Cree passed away on Oct. 28, 2004 at the age of 97.
