RECR 444:

Research in Recreation and Sport

Course Description: This course is designed to introduce and teach students how to use basic research techniques required to complete a small-scale research investigation. The course is also designed assist students in preparing to critique their own research project. 

Learning Outcomes

  • Students in this course will be assessed on their ability to:

    • Explore and understand research techniques.
    • Identify and understand concepts and terminology in research investigation.
    • Understand the sampling process in research.
    • Identify a research topic and its significance in the recreation and sport industry.
    • Demonstrate the ability to develop a research plan and implement the study. 
    • Demonstrate the ability to present the results of their study, prepare the written report, and deliver the final research presentation to the class.
