RECR 320:

Facilities Management

Course Description: This course is designed to explore and research the different operational, design, construction, and management elements of recreation and sport facilities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students in this course will be assessed on their ability to:

    • Identify specific recreation and sport needs for the general population.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the major differences between indoor and outdoor facility design.
    • Demonstrate the ability to identify and understand general facility design for recreation and sport activities.
    • Demonstrate the ability to identify and define specific laws and legislation as they relate to facility design and management.
    • Demonstrate the ability to evaluate facility programs in relationship to their written goals and objectives. 
    • Understand the diverse opportunities for careers in facilities management in recreation and sport settings.

Due to evaluation of previous learning measures and recommendations it was determined that RECR 320 "Evaluation of Student Individual Site Visit" would serve as a viable measure of student learning for the revised Assessment Plan

Specificall the RECR 320 site visit would measure student knowledge regarding the operations and mangement of recreation facilities.
