RECR 210:

Introduction to Leisure Activities

Course Description:  Prepares students to lead and teach leisure activities as well as implement activity programs. Activities for special populations will also be explored.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Students in this course will be assessed on their ability to:
    • Demonstrate the ability to search and discover applicable creative activities
    • Render a design and plan for the implementation of an activity
    • Demonstrate leadership abilities through leading activities
    • Demonstrate ability to evaluate the leadership skills of their peers
    • Syntehesize information into a notebook of activities

7.02: (Service and Experience Opportunities) Students graduating from the program shall be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement, and evaluate services that facilitate targeted human experiences and that embrace personal and cultural dimensions of diversity.

  • Indirect Measure: RECR 210 (Leisure Activity course): Recreational Activity Notebook Project:  Student proficiency in design, implementation, & evaluation of activities will be demonstrated through a leadership of class activities, evaluation, and development of an activity notebook.

CPI: REVISIONS (June, 2014)

Due to past results and recommendations it was determined that RECR 210 Activity Notebook did not adequately measure diversity and therefore will not be used in the Revised Assessment Plan as a measure of learning.
