412 RUSSIA SINCE 1855

Dr. A. Henriksson
History 412 is a survey of late Imperial, Soviet, and post-Soviet Russia.
Special emphasis is placed on Russian political, social, economic, and
cultural development, on Russia's relations with the wider world, and on
the experience of non-Russian minorities within the Tsarist and Soviet
systems.

Written Work, Grading Procedures
Students must submit a formal research paper of 3,000-4,000 words.
The papers are due on Friday, 27 April 2001. Late papers will be penalized
5 points per day!
Two examinations will be held during the term. There will be a final
examination.
Grades will be computed as follows:
