Civil War Tours

A limited number of spaces are available to the public on the bus that will travel from Shepherd University to visit Civil War memorial sites in Washington DC.  The tour is part of the Civil War Seminar course offered this semester, taught by Dr. Mark Snell, Director of the GTM Center for the Study of the Civil War.

On Tuesday, April 6, the group will visit our nation’s capital and investigate the many memorials devoted to individuals and groups who contributed in unique ways to this most significant war.  The tour also includes a visit to Arlington National Cemetery. The cost of the tour is $50 per person.

The fee includes transportation to and from Shepherdstown on an air-conditioned, restroom-equipped bus and a full day, expert-guided tour.  A lunch stop will be made near convenient restaurants.  Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.  Call (304) 876-5429 for more information or to reserve your space.
