MBA in Accounting
MBA -- Accounting (36 Credits)
The curriculum of the MBA in Accounting is designed to prepare a variation of accounting professionals to become C.P.A.s and/or leaders in the accounting profession. With the completion of 150 credit hours including the MBA in Accounting, individuals may sit for the C.P.A. exam and upon successful completion of the examination and experience requirements that may be imposed by the state, practice as certified public accountants. All students enrolled in the MBA-Accounting will be required to take the following: 1. Core MBA Courses, and 2. Specialized Accounting Courses (in lieu of the MBA Electives).

MBA-Accounting Mission
The MBA-Accounting program will provide students with tools for successful careers and personal growth through:
- The use of both on-campus and case studies/problem solving education to enhance their skills, knowledge and abilities in accounting
- Instruction of theoretical and conceptual frameworks for solutions in actual practice settings that add value to clients' business practices,
- Preparation for private, public, profit or non-profit accounting leadership,
- Preparation for the C.P.A. exam in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania (and all other states with similar C.P.A. criteria)
- Support for the 150 hours requirement to practice as a C.P.A.

MBA in Accounting -- Admissions Criteria:
Same general admissions criteria as General MBA (and a major in accounting if fulfilling the content areas for the C.P.A. exam).
