The Scarborough Society Travels to The National Archives in Washington, DC!
The Scarborough Society has an exciting excursion planned for their 2011 annual bus trip! Visit The National Archives in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, June 16, 2011 to tour America’s Historical Documents on permanent display, along with a new, socially relevant exhibit opening in June called What’s Cooking, Uncle Sam?, which will examine the government’s influence on food in our nation.
Additionally, Dr. Richard Hunt, Director of the Center for Legislative Archives, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the Legislative vault, which houses originals of some of the greatest documents in American history. You won't want to miss this exclusive private tour!
The bus will depart Shepherd’s campus at 9:30 a.m., and return at 6:00 p.m. The cost of the trip is $75 and includes lunch at McCormick and Schmick’s restaurant. For more information about this popular event or to reserve your seat on the bus, contact Phyllis Smock at 304-264-0560.
