We'd like to introduce you to a few folks... Kelsea Pittman '12 graduated from Shepherd University in December 2012 with a B.S. in Business Administration. As a student, she was a recipient of the Dr. Frederick D. Kenamond Business Scholarship. "I am very thankful for the scholarship I received," she said. "It aided me in pursuing my college career." A senior at Shepherd, Charlie Korcsmaros plans to graduate in 2013 with a double major in Business/Economics and Pre-Law. He was awarded three scholarships: The E. William Johnson Memorial Scholarship, the John Glenn Phillips Memorial Economics Scholarship, and the T. Edward Stotler Memorial Scholarship. Charlie is especially grateful for his scholarships, saying "I have a unique and rare medical disorder that requires expensive monitoring. These scholarships makes a college education possible for one such as myself." Rachel Mazloum is a Shepherd senior who plans to graduate in 2013 with a degree in Social Work. She is a recipient of The Shepherd Fund. Of her award she says, "My scholarship has taken a great financial strain off of my parents, who are gracious enough to pay for my college education." Also a senior, Claudia Paycheff will graduate in 2013 with her B.S. in Environmental Studies with a focus on Historic Preservation. Claudia currently receives the Ronald Reeder Memorial Scholarshi. She is also a past recipient of the Ida May Fleming Award, which funded a summer internship through which she led living history tours around Shepherdstown as part of Shepherd's Historic Preservation Program. "Earning a scholarship has enabled me to continue with my education," she says. "Without it, I would have postponed seeking a degree and would have continued working in hopes of saving enough to pay for tuition."
