2013 CANADIAN PARLIAMENT INTERN ANNOUNCED

Congratulations to Shepherd senior PATRICK KOCZERA of Charles Town, who was selected to participate in the 2013 Canadian Parliament Internship taking place this summer. Overseen by the Department of Political Science, this five-week internship program is made possible by the generosity of Dr. Marc Curley, whose gift enables students to spend the summer in Canada working with the Canadian Parliament. Activities include helping draft speeches, respond to constituents, and travel to electoral districts of their Member of Parliament (MP), among others. Led by Dr. James Baker from Western Kentucky University, the program is an exciting and rewarding opportunity enjoyed by Shepherd students - including 2012 intern JESSICA EARLE - long after its completion!

SAVE THE DATE!

The stage has been set for the 12th annual Scarborough Society Gala with a theme surrounding Gone With the Wind, Margaret Mitchell’s epic novel of love and loss during the Civil War. The charming Bavarian Inn will provide the promenade for southern belles and their beaus (or scalawags) at this popular event, to be held on Friday, August 9, 2013. For more information about the gala or to receive an invitation, contact the Foundation office at 304-876-5397. Then begin fashioning your finest drapes into a ball gown and prepare to dance the night away!
