PLANNED GIVING

Planned giving encompasses a variety of philanthropic strategies that help you provide for Shepherd University while also advancing your own financial and personal objectives. Planning your gifts is a way for you to take advantage of the tax, financial, and estate planning benefits of philanthropy.

Among the types of planned gifts you might consider:

  • Income-producing charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts
  • Charitable lead trusts that support Shepherd now and still leave assets to your heirs
  • Bequests to make a gift through your will
  • Life insurance naming Shepherd as a beneficiary

The Shepherd University Foundation can help simplify your planned giving decisions. In addition to a special newsletter, the Foundation office has brochures and other materials to guide your planning. The executive vice president, Monica Lingenfelter, is also happy to meet with you to answer any questions you have in making your gift to Shepherd.
