CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ARTS (PHASE II)
This building is phase two of the Center for Contemporary Arts complex and consists of program space for a black box theater, several classrooms, a sculpture studio, scene shop, paint booth and required support spaces. The exterior of the building will be similar to the CCA I building but with several modifications. Morgan Keller, of Frederick, MD was the successful bidder. Construction officially began September 19, 2011. The project is expected to be complete in mid November, 2012.

Currently: Site work is well underway. The construction lay down area is established. The building footprint has been laid out and utilities located. The major work at present is to install storm water lines on both sides of the building. Once the storm water lines are in place the utility lines will be installed. Shortly thereafter work will begin on foundations.

Special Notes: The concrete parking area now used for CCA I parking will be closed effective September 19 to all but construction related traffic. The new handicap parking area and crosswalk has been installed. Handicap parking, for access to the CCA I building should use the new HDK parking area near Thacher Hall. Staff parking is available in J-Lot, the area just east of the Butcher Center.
