Welcome to the Shepherd University Enrollment Management website!
Shepherd University takes students on an extraordinary academic journey to master the knowledge and skills necessary for personal and professional success. The Shepherd path begins with a liberal arts education, advances to a nationally recognized degree, and leads to outstanding career preparation.
Enrollment Management is a complex, adaptive system that is made up of the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Retention, and Marketing. It is dynamic, nonlinear, emergent, and multidimensional.
The goal of the Enrollment Management Division is to provide a comprehensive process designed to assist the University achieve and maintain success through optimum recruitment, retention, and graduation rates as defined within the academic context of the institution.
We understand that students have choices. Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) recognizes students' right to choose their institutions and programs. Shepherd University strives to establish a relationship with students, their parents, and the institutional community. Recruitment and student success strategies, service offerings, program initiatives, and SEM assessment are all decisions based on students' perspectives.
We ask students to open themselves up to new worlds and viewpoints that they may not have previously understood or even knew existed. Students tell us they find new passions at Shepherd--both inside and outside of the classroom. Our students do make a difference around them.
The proof of the Shepherd liberal arts education comes as students encounter an ever-changing world upon graduation. The Shepherd graduate is well-equipped to succeed in a chosen career or profession and is able to adapt--and flourish--with integrity no matter the uncertainties that lie ahead.
I encourage you to explore this site and make an appointment to visit our campus. Shepherdstown is a college town with a cosmopolitan air where you'll find a variety of restaurants, plenty of meeting places, and lots to do. We are just outside Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, but have the advantage of historic sites and outdoor recreation in our own back yard. I look forward to seeing you on campus!
