Adjunct Professor of English

E-Mail: tpanebia@shepherd.edu

Areas of Specialization

Composition; Writing for the Professions and Social Sciences; World Literature

Thomas Panebianco received an A.B. with Highest Honors in English from Rutgers University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He became a member of the Pennsylvania, Florida, and District of Columbia Bars and was a criminal prosecutor in Miami, Florida. He then practiced maritime and international trade law in Washington, D.C., and served as General Counsel of a federal agency.

To atone for this misdirected life, Mr. Panebianco became an adjunct to Shepherd's English faculty in 1996. His courses include World Literature II and Writing for the Social Sciences, a freshman composition course. He no longer practices law, despite frequent requests from students for legal advice regarding the usual range of legal infractions. He divides his time between Washington, D.C., and greater metropolitan Paw Paw, West Virginia.

Prepared and maintained for the Department of English by Dr. Linda Tate.
