American Literature; Appalachian Culture

 

A 1992 alumnus of Shepherd's English program, Ms. Rachael Meads went on to complete a Masters in English at West Virginia University in 1994. Not long after, she returned to Shepherd to work full time for the Division of Student Affairs.  Currently, she is the Director of Student Development, coordinating orientation and student leadership initiatives, advising the campus Program Board, and directing the Performing Arts Series and the annual Appalachian Heritage Festival. Ms. Meads teaches American Literature in the fall and Appalachian Culture every spring. She is passionately committed to cultural studies and experiential learning. Ms. Meads also serves as president of the West Virginia Council of Cultural Coordinators, the statewide arts presenters consortium.
