Mary Lease is a National Board Certified Teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching in public middle and high schools in Iowa , Missouri , and Florida . She currently manages Certification Standards at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and is responsible for guiding the Standards Committees as they write and/or revise standards and for guiding the publication and distribution of the standards. She is an adjunct professor at Shepherd University and Frederick Community College .
