Creating effective application letters, resumes, and portfolios.

Spring 2005 Job Workshop #2:

Wednesday, April 7, 4:30-5:30

Bring to workshop #2 the following: your self-assessment worksheets (to jog your memory about items you want to include), your chosen job announcement, and your thoughts about what would make an effective resume and application letter for this particular job. We will cover the following steps during the workshop.

Step 1: Understand resumes. 

Read “Business Correspondence—Resumes.” Take a look at some sample resumes (including the explanatory comments that are offered):

Step 2: Understand application letters.

Now it's time to prepare your resume and application letter.
