TEACHING-EDITING
* Teach English literature and composition at
Shepherd College and at Frederick Community College. Have also taught graduate courses at National-Louis University.
* Am senior editor of Antietam Review, prizewinning
national journal of the arts.
* Have conducted numerous writing
lecture-workshops on behalf of West Virginia Writers, the Arts & Humanities
Alliance, Jefferson County Schools, the American Association of University Women, VA Hospital program,
Boarman Arts Center, & others.
* Have served as mentor in dramatic writing
at Shepherd and as Skilled Scholar at Frederick Community College; have served
also as judge of regional writing competitions.
* For many summers, have taught Poetry for
Children out of doors in local parks; said programs have led to radio
broadcasts by the young poets, with intimations of immortality.
WRITING PLUS
* As senior editor of Antietam Review, produce said journal, conduct interviews. Advise
& contribute to Shepherd arts journal Sans
Merci, and have served as Arts & Culture editor of the quarterly Mountain Pathways. Collaborated on novels The Turning & Mystic Uncle.
* Honored by inclusion in WILD, SWEET NOTES: Fifty Years of West Virginia Poetry, 1950-1999; FEF’s new book will soon be published by The Bunny &
Crocodile Press.
* Contributed
Oxford Encyclopedia entry on Delmore
Schwartz; serve as theater critic for Shepherdstown
Chronicle; was columnist for Jefferson Spirit Advocate; created popular mystery series; curated poetry exhibition at Boarman Arts
Center, with published catalogue.
* Broadcast my plays and poetry (Rumsey Radio
Hour), some by satellite, as producer-writer for Shepherdstown Radio Company,
whose programs aired in eight states--”Readers’ Theater of the
Air”--Collaborated with Shepherd College’s new/old medieval drama troupe, The
Rude Mechanicals. Performed poetry & prose with the band Tribal Jazz.
